Hi, I’m Jaclyn Borgia
I offer online therapy for folks who live in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and online coaching for those who live anywhere in the world.
I began Sassy when I got tired of working for the man. I decided to do something brave — start my own business — and I’m so glad that I did. I’m here to empower you to do the things you most want to but are afraid to do — because if I can do it, so can you.
The Sassy Shrink is an embodiment of the qualities I value most — empathy, warmth, humor, and authentic connection.
When you work with me, you get someone who’s fiercely in your corner, rooting for you and the person you want to become.
Here’s a little bit about why I do the work that I do.
Trigger Warning: Suicide
When I was in high school, a classmate took his own life. It was such a tragic event on so many levels — and not just because he was well known and well liked.
I will always remember the moment we received the news. The guy sitting next to me said something best left unsaid. As someone who is deeply empathetic… I was appalled. Beyond the tragedy of losing a young life, what saddened and infuriated me was the indifferent manner in which people around me were discussing it. The disconnect between the gravity of the situation and the casual conversation led me to wanting to understand so many things — human emotion, empathy, the darkness we all sometimes feel — and ultimately, I found psychology. I studied it at the undergraduate and graduate level and was propelled into my life’s work.
After pursuing my master’s in Counseling Psychology, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I’m a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist, Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist, and Clinical Trauma Professional. I’ve done additional trainings to become certified in these three areas to best support your unique needs. See Full Bio →
Over the years, I’ve worked in many different settings with lots of different folks. I’ve worked with kids and teens in the classroom, adults in substance abuse recovery, young adults and older in the private sector.
At the end of the day my mission is this:
I create space for you — all of you — so the magic within can emerge.
When you feel safe, seen, and heard — magic happens.
My hope is that you leave our sessions knowing you are loved and cared for.
My hope is that instead of running from pain, you see that you can move through it. That you are strong. That you matter.
I know how healing it is to be seen and heard. Whether you’re seeking therapy or coaching, I’d be honored to partner with you.
